Launch of CDKN in Senegal seeks to accelerate inclusive climate action On the 16th July 2024, the CDKN programme was officially launched in Senegal, the first francophone country to join the programme in its third phase. Senegal joins Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya and Namibia as the fifth focal country in Africa, and will be led by ENDA ENERGIE.

Opportunity: REDAA's grant call for restoration programmes in Africa and Asia Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia (REDAA) is now inviting proposals for locally led, multi-locational research-to-action restoration programmes spanning across Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia. In this second REDAA grant call, up to nine programme grants ranging from £1,000,000 to £1,500,000 will be awarded to the best proposals.

Four ecosystem-based adaptation projects with a social and gender perspective begin in Latin America Four CDKN-supported Knowledge-to-Action (K2A) projects began activities recently, two in Colombia and two in Ecuador. These K2A projects are part of a small grants programme (US$ 50,000 per project) that aim to sustainably protect natural resources in these countries while considering the effects of climate change and promoting ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) and gender and social inclusion.

CDKN at CBA18 The 18th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change (CBA18) takes place from 6 - 9 May 2024 in Arusha, Tanzania. The CBA conference series aims to bring together a community of practitioners who are collectively seeking to reimagine solutions that enable transformative outcomes, through the agency of communities driving climate action. CDKN will be co-hosting three sessions at the conference.
