Context

It is more critical than ever to support local communities and entrepreneurs to innovate or re-interpret the technologies or techniques needed to make their local realities more resilient to climate change. However, there is a significant lack of finance available for climate adaptation solutions, especially from the private sector. The AF-EU-UNDP Innovation Small Grant Aggregator Platform (ISGAP) is providing 20-30 direct small grants to local entities to support innovation for effective, long-term adaptation to climate change.

ISGAP aims to support the development and diffusion of innovative adaptation practices, tools, and technologies, and generate an evidence base for implementing entities and other funds to scale up.

Project focus

CDKN, as part of the Resilience Knowledge Coalition with the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) and the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), is providing knowledge brokering and capacity strengthening support to ISGAP grantees.

Project activities

CDKN and partners are providing a knowledge management and sharing function focussed on:

  • Facilitating knowledge sharing and peer learning opportunities for communication and exchange amongst grantees.
  • Documenting¬†and disseminating lessons learned from the ISGAP grantees locally and internationally.

Partners: International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) through the Resilience Knowledge Coalition
