Project : Advocacy fund support for a workshop to prepare submission of views on REDD+ under AWG/LCA, AWG/KP and SBSTA

This project aims to organise a workshop to prepare submission of views on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) under the Ad-hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action (AWG/LCA), the Ad-hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG/KP) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA).

Project : Facilitation of legal advice to UNFCCC developing country negotiators

This project aims to provide legal support to Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) serving LDCs during the UNFCCC process. It also aims to build the capacity and understanding of LDC decision makers on the legal aspects of the negotiations, including through the provision of training workshops and briefing notes.

The project established a framework agreement with a range of legal and technical suppliers to support the Chair of the Least Developed Country (LDC) negotiating group in the UN climate change process.

CDKN side event - Mainstreaming climate change into urban planning The side event showcases some of the project CDKN is currently involved in, including presentations on the situation currently facing Cartagena, Colombia and why climate compatible development is so important to the city. An example from Brazil of what can happen when there is insufficient disaster risk reduction mechanisms in place and how Buenos Aires, Mexico City and São Paulo are working together to promote leadership and climate citizenship.
