Join CDKN at Adaptation Futures 2016
Adaptation Futures 2016: Practices and Solutions takes place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, 10-13 May 2016.
The conference is billed as “the perfect place for people of all ages and backgrounds, from all corners of the world, to share new scientific findings, products and services, so we can promote the business case for [climate change] adaptation.”
Over three days, participants can enjoy three plenary sessions running throughout, more than 155 events, seven high-level round tables, 13 field trips, and the Adaptation Expo.
CDKN will be exhibiting at the event, together with our sister programme BRACED, which focuses on climate resilient development issues.
Visit our stand and don’t miss the chance to pick up copies of CDKN’s ‘What’s in the IPCC AR5 for developing countries’ reports and recent Inside Stories on sub-national adaptation successes. You can also learn more about Future Climate for Africa (FCFA), for which CDKN runs the Capacity Development and Knowledge Exchange unit out of its Cape Town offices. Our staff are participating in several events to showcase FCFA's research and how the programme is engaging decision-makers - don't miss the FCFA event programme.
We’ll have staff representing the main CDKN programme and our Future Climate for Africa activities at the exhibition stand. We look forward to welcoming you at our stand, exchanging research findings and lessons learned, and brainstorming programme ideas.
CDKN is also sponsoring our partner, Dr Shiraz Wajih of the Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group, India, to present the achievements of his climate resilience work at the side event (SP9.1) Resilient risk governance systems: Enhancing integration and adaptive capacity across scales.
Dr Wajih's presentation will be entitled Decentralised Climate resilient planning: integrating climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction in India and it will be based on his 30+ years of work, which you can also read about in this CDKN Inside Story on Climate Compatible Development.
