The role of traditional pottery in beating rural heat stress in Maharashtra, India Prajkta Harishchandra Gaikwad from the Yashwantrao Chavan School of Social Work describes how communities in the Satara district of Maharashtra are using traditional earthen pots to keep drinking water cool during heat waves. Resilience Evidence Forum Registration is now open for the Resilience Evidence Forum, to be held in Cape Town in June 2023. The forum, co-hosted by USAID and the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), aims to take stock of the latest evidence on resilience and its implications for policy and programming and spark further collaborations and capacity exchange across geographic contexts, sectors and actors.

The ‘knowledge-to-action’ call will provide grants to projects led by African organisations that mobilise Indigenous and local knowledge to support locally-led and inclusive climate-resilient action in Africa.

Elevating the role of water resilience in food system dialogues Ensuring resilient food systems and sustainable healthy diets for all requires much higher water use, however, water resources are finite, geographically dispersed and volatile under climate change. A new paper co-authored by CDKN CEO Shehnaaz Moosa highlights the role of water use in the food system and how good governance is central to achieving water-resilient food systems.

The role of climate-smart agriculture enterprises in women's empowerment Women in agriculture are often disproportionately affected by climate change and structural gender inequalities. Under the Gender Equality in a Low Carbon World (GLOW) programme, experts from Intellecap share progress in reorienting the private sector to women's empowerment in climate-smart agricultural solutions in East Africa.​​​​​​​

Resilience Perspectives: A storytelling competition for young people The Global Resilience Partnership, in collaboration with CDKN, is hosting a storytelling contest that will bring young voices with lived experiences of resilience to the forefront.
