Project : Secure safe water in sub-Saharan Africa

This project aims to create financial incentives for safe water and hygiene service providers by pioneering a water credits market through a Payment-By-Results (PBR) mechanism in rural Uganda.

Securing safe water in sub-Saharan Africa An innovative programme currently being piloted in Uganda hopes to address the issue of contaminated water through financial incentives for the maintenance of safe water sources and adequate hygiene. If successful, it may provide a model to be used elsewhere in Sub-Saharan Africa.
