The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab), an investor network that incubates and launches promising investment solutions to address climate change in developing countries, recently opened its call for ideas for the 2023 cycle.

The Lab is looking for six early-stage innovative finance solutions that can unlock climate investment in emerging markets. For this 2023 cycle, the Lab has a special call for ideas that target adaptation and gender-responsive climate finance, as well as those ideas that target Brazil, India, and Southern or East Africa. The Lab also welcomes any other mitigation ideas that target other sectors and developing countries. Proposed sustainable finance vehicles should offer returns for private investors, create jobs and other local economic benefits, sustain biodiversity, improve climate resilience and decrease emissions.

Selected ideas will receive guidance and support from high-level leaders from both the public and private sectors, who contribute expertise, political capital, and financial capital to the instruments. Selected ideas will also benefit from robust analysis, stress-testing and development by Climate Policy Initiative’s team of experts.

Application

The deadline to submit an idea is 26th December, 17h00 Pacific Standard Time (UTC -8:00).
