CoP-17 begins! What do developing countries want from Durban?
Much of the discussion in Durban will focus on whether Parties can come up with an agreement on emissions reduction once the Kyoto Protocol comes to an end next year. Professor Lavanya Rajamani of CPR in Delhi considers the benefits of a legally-binding deal here, while Simon Maxwell writes about the progress we can make in tackling climate change without a global agreement.

CDKN supports Climate Vulnerable Forum
Due to CDKN support, the Government of Bangladesh between 13 and 14 November hosted the most successful Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) to date. Former president of Costa Rica, José María Figueres, introduced the Forum on the CDKN site. Read more about what happened in Bangladesh here.

Preparing for climate-related disasters - IPCC report

CDKN’s Tom Mitchell was a Co-ordinating Lead Author of the IPCC Special Report on Extreme Events, launched on 18 November in Kampala, Uganda.
