Call for applications - Kenya Climate Innovation Prize
Call for applications - Kenya Climate Innovation Prize
Applications are open for a climate innovation prize that will recognise efforts to make climate information more useful for Kenya's low income communities. Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the competition is organised by the Institute of Development Studies with IMC Worldwide Ltd and other partners. The deadline for applications is 7th February 2016.
Cash prizes will be awarded to entrepreneurs and innovators who come up with new solutions to use climate information in a way that helps vulnerable individuals, households and communities in Kenya to tackle climate uncertainty and risk. Applications must illustrate how climate information will be used.
The Wazo prize is the first of a series of prizes to be awarded in Kenya over the next three years. It is part of the Ideas to Impact Programme, which explores how innovation prizes can benefit communities across the world in the areas of climate change adaptation, energy access and access to clean water.
The competition is open to individuals and organisations who can demonstrate how their idea will make a positive impact in Kenya. In March 2016, the top 15 ideas will be awarded cash prizes.
Please share this with relevant partners and colleagues working in Kenya.
