Unlocking climate finance for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in coastal Bangladesh Makame Mahmud and Jubaer Rashid of CDKN Asia share their insights on a project that assessed climate financing opportunities for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Bangladesh's southwestern coastal areas. The region is known for agriculture, aquaculture and handicrafts, with women entrepreneurs playing a significant role. Sector-specific impacts are identified and key recommendations are outlined for improving the climate resilience of MSMEs in the region.

Climate justice awards: Youth leaders announced CDKN, the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL) have announced the 30 sponsored participants to attend the Landscape Leadership Workshop and Global Landscapes Forum from 9-12 October 2023. Of these participants, 11 are recipients of CDKN's climate justice awards, supporting young climate leaders in Africa to implement an activity or process in their communities, landscapes or seascapes that envisions or advances climate justice.

Resilience Evidence Forum Synthesis Report: Prioritising collective goals and scaling solutions This report captures the key messages that emerged from the Resilience Evidence Forum, held in Cape Town from 20-22 June 2023. The report is based on the latest evidence and methodological advancements across different scales of analysis, as well as different cross-cutting themes. It emphasises the need to prioritise resilience as a collective goal, showcases success stories and outlines principles for scaling evidence-based solutions.

How can grants effectively support locally-led adaptation: Three key insights from Africa Climate Week Guy Rudolph and Esperanza Karaho from CDKN share their insights from a breakfast discussion held on the sidelines of Africa Climate Week in Nairobi. The gathering involved both grant-makers and grant recipients and focused on answering the question: ‘How can we design our funding programmes to best support locally-led adaptation?’

Ecosystem-based approaches for just climate action in African cities: Seven takeaways from Africa Climate Week CDKN, ICLEI Africa, PlanAdapt and World Resources Institute colleagues reflect on a recent session held at Africa Climate Week that focused on the importance of equitable ecosystem-based approaches as a means to address climate challenges. CDKN at Adaptation Futures 2023 The seventh edition of Adaptation Futures (AF2023), hosted by Ouranos, the Government of Canada and the United Nations’ World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP), will take place in Montréal from 2-6 October. CDKN at Africa Climate Week 2023 Africa Climate Week (ACW) and the Africa Climate Summit (ACS), both hosted by the Government of Kenya, will run concurrently from 4-8 September in Nairobi. The first of four Regional Climate Weeks, ACW aims to build momentum ahead of COP28 and the conclusion of the first global stocktake, designed to chart the way for fulfilling the Paris Agreement's key goals.
