Claire Monkhouse of CDKN introduces the session and the tool, and James Harries of Ricardo Energy and Environment gives participants a half hour, step-by-step orientation to how to use the Quick Start Guide, covering:

  • Starting points for planning mitigation and adaptation measures;
  • Key steps in developing a climate investment plan and to secure access to climate finance;
  • Governance considerations related to NDC planning and implementation;
  • Monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) for tracking progress in implementation and achieving an NDC.

Stephen King’uyu, of the Climate Change Directorate of Kenya’s Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and the Co-Chair of the LEDS GP, provides insights into how Kenya is implementing its NDC.
