This project embeds science into humanitarian work, designing participatory games and other innovative tools for smart forecast-based decisions. The goal is to manage climate risks and promote effective responses for development and adaptation in Africa across various sectors, time scales, and spatial scales of decision.

CDKN is supporting Anguilla’s efforts to increase its resilience to climate change; achieve energy independence; and to meet its vital energy needs with reliable, affordable and renewable energy resources.

Following a proposal put forward by the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) in 2008, the issue of Loss and Damage was included on the agenda of official international climate negotiations. Despite this achievement, the exact definition of Loss and Damage is still being contested and argued over within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

CDKN is working with the Meridian Institute to support dialogue on the nexus between agriculture and climate change in the context of UNFCCC negotiations. The project aims to facilitate discussion among developing country leaders on agriculture-climate links through a 12 month dialogue process.

REDD-net Asia Pacific will extend its knowledge-sharing activities to policy-level engagement in order to raise awareness of REDD+ issues and help connect local level concerns and experiences to national/regional processes.

This project combines economic and biophysical models with Vietnamese land use data to examine various long-term scenarios, with the aim of building a ‘knowledge infrastructure platform’ to support the formulation of adequate land use policies.

This Green Guide project will provide policy-makers with a practical, succinct ‘go-to guide’ and web-based tool to strengthen the understanding of linkages between climate change and development.

The Government of Nepal is putting in place a policy framework to address the effects of climate change. The recently approved National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) and Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) aim to ensure adaptation to climate change is incorporated into mainstream development efforts.

Over two years, CDKN supported the Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP) to improve the quality and quantity of climate change coverage in the developing country media, enhance the capacity of journalists to cover the issues and ensure developing country voices are heard in global debates.
