Background

As part of its work around the dissemination of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report's findings within developing countries, the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) has produced a succinct guide to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), which distils the richest material from the report to raise awareness of what climate change means for developing islands.

The event 

On 4 September, during the SIDS Conference 2014 in Apia, Samoa, CDKN and its partners (see below) will hold a special event aimed at highlighting the findings of the report - in order to catalyse action and strengthen exchange of knowledge across SIDS in tackling the causes and consequences of climate change.

The event will bring together climate change experts, senior officials and negotiators from various organisations and regions to discuss their responses to climate change. Together, speakers and participants will look ahead over a critical 16 months for international climate change negotiations.
