Inside Story : Building resilience to climate change locally - The case of Valenzuela City, Metro Manila
Valenzuela City is one of the 16 cities that make up ‘Metro Manila’. The confluence of these rivers makes Valenzuela vulnerable to flooding during high tides and also to regular flash floods. Ecosystem-based disaster risk management and climate adaptation approaches are proving successful in helping communities to cope.
The study of the Political Economy of long-lived decisions in Africa will provide a focused analysis that will allow the Future Climate For Africa programme to leverage the research impact of the RPCs through advisory support.
This project will analyse the types of development decisions that should be actively accounting for future (10 years +) climate in decisions taken today.
