Science summary: The drought in Kenya, 2016–2017 Kenya is currently suffering from a drought, which has triggered a national emergency as of April 2017. Scientists with the World Weather Attribution (WWA) partnership have conducted a real-time attribution analysis to see whether and to what extent human-induced climate change has played a role in the 2016-2017 drought in Kenya.

The changing risk of extreme weather: Insights from Raising Risk Awareness Raising Risk Awareness held a three-day learning event, hosted in Nairobi, to bring together 65 members of the Raising Risk Awareness team from across the globe. A series of short films were produced on the takeaway messages of the learning event and the importance of climate science attribution.
