The overall purpose of this project was to improve access to climate knowledge for developing country stakeholders by helping build the capacity of climate knowledge brokers, encouraging collaboration between them, and making it easier for users to find the information they need. The final phase of this 3-year project was focused on expanding the Climate Knowledge Brokers (CKB) community of practice, carrying out some important technical integration work, and developing and testing out suitable approaches to capacity building drawing on a clear assessment of demand and lessons from best practice elsewhere. This is with the view to gearing up the impact and ambitions of the CKB initiative in the longer term, in line with calls for action on capacity building and knowledge sharing in the COP21 agreement. The specific objectives of the project were:

• To ensure the role of climate knowledge brokers, and the need for capacity building in this area, is recognised by national and international players. 
• To ensure newly emerging climate knowledge brokers especially in developing countries see the value of joining the CKB Group to help them become more effective.
• To offer a range of high quality training materials that knowledge brokers are taking advantage of and finding useful in getting them up the learning curve. 
• To demonstrate that the CKB Group’s longer term capacity building strategy is showing signs of working and meeting demands, with the CKB Group having established a reputation for being a thoughtful, effective and well-connected player in this field. 
• To ensure the CKB Group has become an effective global community of practice with a strong member-led programme of activities, a sustainable business plan, effective governance arrangements, and a diversified funding base. 
• The ensure the CKB Group has built the foundations to sustain an effective ongoing presence in LAC, and is delivering added value to knowledge brokers in the region. 
• To ensure the integration of the Climate Knowledge Navigator and Climate Tagger into one platform to make it easier for climate information users to find relevant content and sources. 
• To ensure CDKN benefits from the knowledge and expertise of CKB in its own activities and planning.
