With support from CDKN, The Gambia revised its medium term plan - the Programme for Accelerated Growth and Employment (PAGE) - to integrate climate change into policies and actions. This was the first step towards developing a climate change strategy for the country.

The aim of the project was to ensure The Gambia's development plan was designed to incorporate climate risks, vulnerabilities and opportunities. As the PAGE document covers all areas of the Gambian economy, it is hoped the climate-proofing exercise will help improve awareness of climate change issues across many different departments and result in greater mobilisation and coordination of adaption and mitigation activities.
