Valenzuela City is one of the 16 cities that make up ‘Metro Manila’. The confluence of these rivers makes Valenzuela vulnerable to flooding during high tides and also to regular flash floods. Ecosystem-based disaster risk management and climate adaptation approaches are proving successful in helping communities to cope.
