The recently approved National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) and Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) aim to ensure adaptation to climate change is incorporated into mainstream development efforts.

The lack of attention to, and misunderstanding of, gender inequality prevents the effective reduction of disaster risks. This policy brief by Dr Virginie Le Masson and Lara Langston highlights the need for specific gender-related measures to be included in the successor agreement to the Hyogo Framework for Action.
The focus of this 6 months project is to support the Government of Pakistan in developing and scoping a nationally appropriate programme of work on climate compatible development which will build on work done on climate change in Pakistan and connect the government’s newly approved National Climate Change Policy to action on the ground.
