Low emission development - What's in it for Africa?
In a new short film from the Africa LEDS Partnership, African climate and development experts present the need for low emission development strategies in the region.
The Colombian National Development Plan of 2014-2018 incorporates a “Green Growth” approach as one of six priority areas for economic development. This is aligned with the entry process for the OECD, and Colombia’s accession is expected to trigger an added impetus in attempts to meet mitigation and adaption goals agreed as part of the Paris Agreement (COP21).
This project, Water adaptation and rural development in a post-conflict scenario in Colombia, will keep local and national decision-makers informed, complement the knowledge embodied in the National Water Study and provide inputs for regional water vulnerability studies led by the Regional Autonomous Corporations (CARs).
This project focuses on identifying opportunities for taking forward the National Financing Strategy (NFS) approach which helps to identify the key financing challenges and opportunities for implementation of Low Carbon Development Strategies in Chile, Colombia and Peru.
The GLOBE Climate Legislators (GCLI) is dedicated to advancing the legislative response to climate change in 33 key countries and by doing so to help create the political conditions for success in the UNFCCC negotiations under the Durban Platform.
