NEWS: International Renewable Energy Agency seeks applications for project funding

Relatively small amounts of energy can satisfy the basic needs of rural populations and have a dramatic impact on quality of life. Despite this, approximately 3 billion people , half the worlds population, ... is crucial.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is welcoming online applications with project summaries for concessional loans worth USD 50 million from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) to facilitate renewable energy projects in developing countries, in the first of seven funding cycles totalling USD 350 million. Renewable energy projects must be government-led or government-guaranteed.

Online applications close on 12 January 2013, 17:00 (Abu Dhabi local time).
