New tools for self-assessment
The leaflet New tools for Change: SPARC's Self-assessment Processes explains the SPARC self-assessment process, how it was developed, how it works, how it changes attitudes, and how it helps government officials identify the changes they want to make and set goals. SPARC recognises that any changes cannot simply be proposed by external consultants – government officials have to come up with proposals for change themselves if changes are to be long lasting and effective.
Helping officials to recognise governance problems and find solutions their own solutions is key to SPARC's work. Government officials from Lagos State and Kaduna State speak about how the self-assessment process has given them new tools for understanding the way they should work.
