OUTLOOK: Edition three, June 2012

CDKN’s quarterly newsletter ‘Climate and Development Outlook’ highlights CDKN’s projects around the world, featuring our work to support climate compatible development.

In this third edition, we explore how CDKN is working with some of the most climate vulnerable countries to raise their concerns on the world stage.

This includes our support for the Government of Nepal to strengthen the voice of Mountain Governments - because mountains provide the source of energy, food and water for billions of people and yet these ecosystems and their people are particularly vulnerable to climate change.

The newsletter also describes how we are working with the Government of Bangladesh as it develops a programme on the loss and damage caused by climate change impacts. The 'Loss and Damage Work Programme' is a specific contribution to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will hear the recommendations from Bangladesh and other Least Developed Countries at the 18th Conference of the Parties in Doha, Qatar in December 2012.

The third Climate and Development Outlook also brings good news of initiatives for cross-agency working, born of the Low Emissions Development Strategies (LEDS) Global Partnership.

Read these stories, and a special guest column by CDKN's Colombia programme leader Claudia Martinez, by downloading the newsletter (3MB), at right.
