Mochamad Indrawan, CDKN's country leader for Indonesia, discusses the recent progress that has been made in Indonesia, as well as the difficulties in implementing climate compatible development policies.

Indonesia is a group of 17,000 islands, some of which are low-lying and vulnerable to rising sea levels. Mochamad explains how the inadequate infrastructure and changes in rainfall pattern is threatening the livelihoods of Indonesians. However, positive progress has been made to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by as much as 41 percent below a business-as-usual trajectory by 2020 and regulations have been implemented in all Indonesian provinces. To bring about the changes necessary to meet this commitment, Indonesia is diversifying its energy sources through the capture of solar power, hydroelectric power, wind, ocean currents and biomass.

Mochamad is interviewed by Mairi Dupar, CDKN Global Public Affairs Co-ordinator, as part of the 'CDKN in conversation' video series.
