Background paper on the identification of needs of professionals and policy makers and their participation in the integration of ecosystem and rights based approaches in the policy and practice of climate change adaptation
Part of the Ecosystems & Livelihood Adaptation Network (ELAN), this discussion paper reviewes the progress in both approaches to climate change adaptation – the ecosystem-based (EBA) and the rights-based approach (Community-based Adaptation or CBA) – in Ecuador.
The paper presents an analysis of the level of implementation of both approaches and opportunities for integration within the institutional framework of climate change in Ecuador, as well as projects within climate change adaptation under implementation.
