Innovative projects supported by CDKN
CDKN provides funding for innovative approaches that tackle the challenges presented by climate change and development. Following the Action Lab held in April 2011, CDKN supported several research projects that developed as a result of this collaborative workshop.In the past CDKN has also provided support for innovative research projects on an ad-hoc basis (see project listings below).
Taking the core idea of support for innovative thinking and innovative action, we created a formal and competitive funding mechanism called the CDKN Innovation Fund. This mechanism provided two levels of support for innovative projects: Stage 1 focused on the development of ideas into game-changing project proposals ready for implementation (by CDKN or external sources); and Stage 2 focused on supporting high-quality research projects. The first round of this fund was opened in October 2011, and a list of awarded projects can be found below.
