Financing Socially Inclusive Climate Resilient Development - Lessons from India, Bangladesh, and Nepal
Join CDKN Asia at Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2021 (APCW 2021) for a side event on ‘Financing Socially Inclusive Climate Resilient Development – Lessons from India, Bangladesh, and Nepal’
Date: Wednesday, 7 July 2021
Time: 17:00-19:00 (GMT+9 Tokyo Time)
Different groups in society have different levels of exposure and vulnerability to extreme events. The climate actions and the budgets committed to climate action must consider the differential impact of climate change on the poor and vulnerable population groups, such as women, children, poor and others.
The objective of this side event is to showcase key learnings from successful initiatives on socially inclusive climate resilience from the three South Asian countries. The event will present cases from three organisations – Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group (GEAG) in India, Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LIBIRD) in Nepal, and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Bangladesh based on their work on socially inclusive climate resilience, with focus on women, farmers and fisherfolk.
