Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS)
The 2012 DSDS will take place in New Delhi 2-4 February on the theme of ‘Protecting the Global Commons: 20 years post Rio’. It will take an unbiased stock of existing situation 20 years since Rio and chart out a roadmap for the future.
CDKN is supporting the DSDS to increase south-south dialogue in the run-up to the Rio+20 conference and will be presenting CDKN lessons learnt on climate compatible development planning in a session at the conference. Around 800 policy-makers and practitioners from the global south will be participating with key note speeches from Heads of State from India, Finland, Ethiopia, Quebec, Seychelles, Iceland and Nobel Laureates Prof Paul J. Crutzen and Dr Elinor Ostrom.
