Small Island Developing States (SIDS)  face a greater risk of marginalisation from the global economy than many other developing countries as a result of their small size, remoteness from large markets, and high economic vulnerability to economic and natural shocks beyond domestic control.

This Reader provides background information and selected information resources, focusing on the implications for rural development of small islands in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.
