This paper presents the report of workshops held in 2010 in East and West Africa. The workshops were aimed primarily at promoting network among policy makers, researchers, scientists, academicians and other stakeholders in nutrition/health and agriculture. The objectives of the workshops were to review the performance of nutrition and agriculture coordination bodies, projects and processes; to discuss the implementation of policies and interventions put in place to improve nutritional outcomes; and to consider how the information presented at the workshop could be implemented in order to improve nutritional outcomes for the vulnerable populations in the country. Key questions were addressed which include how policy makers and program designers can be empowered to monitor and implement nutrition in the National Development Plan, how synergies can be established between the Agriculture and Nutrition sectors amongst others.
