2011 Climate Investment Funds Partnership Forum

The Climate Investment Fund (CIF) Partnership Forum will bring together over 400 stakeholders and 45 nations in Cape Town, South Africa to make funding decisions on climate smart development. The $6.5 billion CIF are a pair of financing instruments channelled through five Multi-Lateral Development Banks (MDBs) that help developing countries transform their economies through low-emissions and climate-resilient development. This is the first time the forum will be held on African soil – with 15 Africa nations attending to share experience on implementing their CIF plans. The African Development Bank is co-hosting the forum.
