EVENT: Join the experts on community-based adaptation live online

The seventh International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation (CBA) kicks off in Bangladesh on Monday 22nd April. Hundreds of experts and practitioners from across the world will be discussing the latest approaches for mainstreaming community-based adaptation into international, national and local planning and processes.

This year you don’t have to travel to Bangladesh to participate. ‘Virtual Internet Participants’ (VIP) will receive all the conference materials, receive daily live and recorded webcasts and also be able to send and receive messages. You can register to be a VIP on the conference website

CDKN is supporting the conference as part of a wider initiative to help build a community of practice on CBA. The objective is to facilitate the exchange of best practice and collaboration between policy-makers, researchers and other stakeholders. A CDKN-supported Government cohort who have spent the last year studying the essential ingredients to mainstreaming CBA will be presenting their findings at a special plenary session at the conference. They will also be launching a series of case studies from their country experiences for how Governments can integrate adaptation to climate change within the development planning process.

The programme agenda as well as other background material and information can be found online

CDKN, in collaboration with partners across Asia, Africa and Latin America, has launched a new publication on Climate resilience and disaster risk management on the occasion of CBA7. This publication presents recent results from CDKN-supported projects to assess vulnerability and mainstream climate resilience into development planning.
